The fourteenth edition of La Stelvio Santini is now part of the history books. Every year, this cycling event attracts passionate riders from all over the world to Alta Valtellina, eager to challenge the legendary Stelvio Pass and much more. In 2026, the event expanded into a full weekend celebration of cycling thanks to the introduction of the new Gravel event, held on Saturday, alongside the traditional Road event, once again showcasing the strong cycling identity of the Bormio area.

The event confirmed its international appeal, with 1,200 participants in the Road event representing 42 different nations.

The Queens and Kings of the Mountain

As per the well-established regulations, rankings are determined exclusively by the combined times recorded on the timed climbs featured in each route. This approach, adopted by the organisers US Bormiese together with title sponsor Santini Cycling, is designed to promote greater safety on the descents.

The King of the Mountain and Queen of the Mountain jerseys were awarded to the riders who recorded the fastest cumulative times across the designated climbs.

On the Long Route – 130 kilometres with 4,270 metres of elevation gain, featuring the legendary climbs of Mortirolo and Stelvio Pass after first tackling Rogorbello – the fastest climbing times were recorded by Piero Lorenzini of Team Factor Hicari Stemax and the French rider Angélina Shandro.

On the Medium Route, covering 108 kilometres and 3,050 metres of elevation gain, the King and Queen of the Mountain jerseys – awarded based on the combined times recorded on the Rogorbello and Stelvio climbs – went respectively to Andrea Spasaro of Team Santini Squadra Corse and Alicya Jouet of the French team Etoile Cycliste Lyon Monplaisir.

On the Short Route, a 64-kilometre course featuring a single ascent of Stelvio Pass, the best performances were delivered by Samuele Toniatti of Team US Bormiese and Austrian rider Patricia Steinkellner of Bike- und Radsportclub Lavanttal.

It has been a demanding weekend, with the launch of the inaugural Gravel edition alongside the return of the Road event. Both event s demonstrated the strong appeal of La Stelvio Santini and the deep-rooted cycling culture of our region.
