Anthon Charmig (Uno-X Mobility) capitalized on the longest stage this race has seen in two decades, surviving a grueling 10-man breakaway to secure his first professional victory on European soil. After navigating the 234.3-kilometer route to Le Puy-en-Velay, the Danish rider timed his winning move flawlessly, abandoning his breakaway companions on the descent of the final Côte de Saint-Vidal. He easily held his advantage on the flat run-in, crossing the line a comfortable 41 seconds ahead of Henri-François Renard-Haquin (Picnic PostNL) and Vlad Van Mechelen (Bahrain Victorious).

Back in the peloton, EF Education-EasyPost managed the race to protect race leader Alex Baudin. Despite a late surge of pressure from Netcompany-Ineos on the final climb, Baudin was shepherded safely to the line by Ben Healy and Sean Quinn to preserve his 32-second overall advantage.
