The Galician terrain continued to torture the peloton on Tuesday, turning what race organizers optimistically billed as a “flat” 121-kilometer ride into A Coruña into a miserable, rolling sufferfest. After reeling in a late attack from Kristen Faulkner, the reduced peloton looked absolutely destined for a chaotic bunch sprint over the final cobbled sectors. Instead, EF Education-Oatly executed a tactical masterclass. With just 2.2 kilometers remaining, French rider Cédrine Kerbaol launched a massive, do-or-die flyer off the front. While her teammate Alice Towers brilliantly soft-pedaled and completely disrupted the organized chase behind her, Kerbaol put her head down and simply rode away from the heavyweights. She crossed the line solo to claim EF’s second victory of the race, dedicating the win to Noemi Rüegg, who heartbreakingly crashed out with a fractured shoulder yesterday. Behind her, a deeply frustrated Lotte Kopecky won the bunch sprint—meaning she has now finished in second place for three consecutive days.
