Team Visma | Lease a Bike powered around the 28.4 kilometer Stage 3 team time trial in Perreux to take the stage win. The Dutch squad stopped the clock at 32:52, successfully hunting down the early benchmark set by Netcompany INEOS to win the day by a clean nine seconds. EF Education-EasyPost rounded out the stage podium in third, dropping 29 seconds to the winners.

The collective effort provides a massive General Classification boost for Matteo Jorgenson. After an intense effort culminating in a sharp uphill finale, the American climbing star catapulted up to fourth in the overall standings, now sitting just 15 seconds off the race lead. Jorgenson called the victory a huge personal boost following his spring setbacks, noting that the unique team discipline feels “seven times better than winning on your own.” Visma’s Head of Performance Mathieu Heijboer treated the day as a highly successful dress rehearsal, confirming the squad has spent months preparing for the identical team time trial format that will open the Tour de France next month in Barcelona.

Despite losing time to the heavy GC hitters, EF Education-EasyPost’s impressive collective ride was exactly what was needed to protect Alex Baudin. The Frenchman successfully defended his yellow and blue leader’s jersey and will carry a 12-second advantage over Netcompany INEOS teammates Kévin Vauquelin and Oscar Onley into the race’s next phase.
