2023 XTERRA Switzerland Preview

XTERRA Triathlon is a series of Cross Triathlon races, founded in 1996 on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Originally introduced as ‘Aquaterra’ the series was later renamed as XTERRA.

The series includes two main categories, the ”Professionals” and the ”Age-groupers”. This race format takes the traditional combination of swimming, mountain biking and trail running. The distances of each race can vary widely, depending on the terrain available, although there are two typical off-road distances:
• The Full Course: 1,5Km Swimming, 30Km Cycling and 11km Running.
• The Short Course: 800m Swimming, 20km Cycling and 5km Running.

For nearly a quarter of a century, XTERRA has brought together athletes from around the world in their quest for self-discovery and outdoor adventure.

About XTERRA Switzerland

Switzerland will be hosting one stage of the XTERRA Series at the Vallée de La Brévine, Neuchâtel, on the 17th and 18th of June. More than 700 athletes from around the world are expected to be standing on the starting line for both the full and short course races.

XTERRA Switzerland gives the opportunity to athletes of every level, to test their abilities on a challenging track and at the same time discover the amazing Swiss landscape, including vast forests, lakes and mountain peaks.

Sunday will be also dedicated to families and young children with a Kid’s Triathlon and the Discovery Triathlon on the menu of the day.
