The Tour de France organizers dropped the official team list for the 2026 edition this morning, and if you hate fighting for position in the neutral zone, look away now.
A total of 23 teams will line up in Barcelona on July 4th. The ASO confirmed that all 18 UCI WorldTeams will be present (obviously), but the real spice comes from the five UCI ProTeams who made the cut.

The “ProTeam” intrigue
Cofidis, Tudor Pro Cycling and Q36.5 Pro Cycling were directly qualified thanks to their UCI points ranking. This means Fabian Cancellara’s Tudor squad and the “we are definitely not a reincarnated Qhubeka” Q36.5 team have arrived at the big show on merit.
The Wildcards: A Spanish Fiesta
With the race starting in Barcelona, the ASO had to throw a bone to the hosts. The two “invited” wildcards are:
- TotalEnergies: Because you cannot have a Tour de France without Jean-René Bernaudeau’s team attacking from kilometer zero.
- Caja Rural-Seguros RGA: The Spanish invite. Usually, seeing the green-and-white jerseys of Caja Rural is reserved for the Vuelta a España, where they aggressively hunt breakaways in 40-degree heat. Seeing them at the Tour de France start line is a rare treat.
And the Rest
As for the 18 WorldTeams? You already know who they are: Visma, UAE, Ineos, Lidl-Trek, Red Bull-Bora, and the 13 other teams currently trying to figure out how to beat Tadej Pogačar.
See you in Barcelona.
