Anticipating a 30% revenue loss due to COVID-19, USA Cycling has announced a large number of layoffs and temporary furloughs. With 775 events impacted and the postponement of the Olympic Games, cycling in the US is in dire straits. Thankfully, we all live under Capitalism ™ , a system that means the people who most need third-party help are the least likely to receive it. Here’s a photo of Slavoj Zizek. USA Cycling don’t mention Zizek. This is what they’re saying: Dear USA Cycling Member, I am writing to share some significant changes deployed today within USA Cycling to help…

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has noted with satisfaction the agreement that has been reached between the Japanese Government, the Organising Committee and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) concerning the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The postponement of the Games to 2021 is in the health and sporting interests of the athletes, as well as all concerned people and parties. Cycling, a historic sport at the Olympic Games and the third Olympic sport in terms of medals with its five disciplines (road, track, mountain bike, BMX Racing and BMX Freestyle), has taken important decisions in the same direction over…
Free training plans. Remember when we used to make the Sufferfest videos in the very early days? Good times. The current global health crisis is impacting all of our lives in profound, unimaginable ways. Our thoughts go out to everyone who has been personally affected by the disease. While we all know that there are far more important things than smashing the next workout or getting a PR on your local climb, as athletes we also know that there is comfort, solace, and meaning to be found in exercise. In these extraordinary circumstances it can be challenging to stay strong…
It’s obviously disappointing to see the Olympic Games postponed as they were a big goal for me this year.
