Fifty years of pro cycling journalism and television commentary. It gets easier after the first forty years.

Bevin will have the support of an experienced team as he looks to repeat his breakthrough performance of 2019, Sports Director Jackson Stewart said. “Looking at this year’s race route, a major difference from last year’s edition is the finish in Paracombe on Stage 3. I think we could see the explosive climbers gain some valuable time and bonus seconds for the General Classification, as in the past. I expect the GC teams will take control of the race earlier with that deciding stage coming halfway through the race,” Stewart explained.“We are bringing a strong and motivated roster to support Patrick…

Update: The 2020 Eddie Soens Memorial Cycle Race will go ahead after all, now organized by The Harry Middleton Cycling Club. Entries are now open. The Pitch You have a column in a newspaper. Well done you. As jobs go its pretty piss easy – you don’t have to able to write or even spell as the paper will provide some minion to do all the hard stuff for you. All you need is to be fairly famous and be able to spout about 1500 words of guff on a weekly basis. Ideally, the column should appear ‘edgy’ despite all opinions expressed falling broadly into the mainstream. This can easily be achieved by picking on the right sort of minority groups. The Target Ideally, a…
