Back to Back Victories for Sam Welsford Make it Three in 24 Hours for Team DSM

Team DSM have capped a remarkable 24 hours with a phenomenal win from Sam Welsford taking a second victory at the Vuelta a San Juan.

An early breakaway was caught with a lap to go, and a group of late attackers caught with four kilometers remaining to race. The final minutes of the Vuelta a San Juan settled in for a sprint finish, the last chance for the sprinters to battle it out on. A flawless lead out delivered Welsford into position to finish it off.

Team DSM were already on a high following an impressive two wins in 12 hours, with Sam Welsford sprinting to victory on the penultimate stage in Argentina while Marius Mayrhofer took the honors on the other side of the world at Australia’s Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
