Bike The Coast Raises Over $5,000 For Bike MS

Hey, check this out, folks! Bike the Coast just went down in San Diego, and guess what? They didn’t just pedal for the views; they raised a whopping $5,000 for Bike MS. Now, that’s not your typical weekend ride, is it?

So, these 1600 pedal-pushing enthusiasts hit the iconic Highway 101, cruising through beach towns that sound like something out of a SoCal dream—Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, and Del Mar. And where did this coastal adventure culminate? Oceanside, baby!

This year’s event wasn’t just about breaking a sweat; it was for a cause. They teamed up with Bike MS, supporting the National MS Society. Now, these folks aren’t just about a leisurely spin; they’re all about creating a world free of MS. Founded back in ’46, these guys fund top-notch research, advocate for change, and offer programs for those affected by MS.

And the cash started flowing. A slice of the proceeds, the beer garden sales (courtesy of BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse), and the generous donations from riders—it all piled up to a cool $5,000! Not too shabby for a ride with a view.

Now, after the leg workout of the year, the riders descended upon an epic after-party at the Oceanside Pier. Picture this: a beer garden sponsored by BJ’s, live tunes, and some seriously satisfying grub. Oh, and they didn’t just get a pat on the back for their efforts; they snagged specialized medals, rider caps, and some Bike The Coast-themed socks. Yeah, socks. Because nothing says “I conquered the coast” like a good pair of themed socks!

The brains behind this extravaganza, Mike Bone, President and CEO of Spectrum Sports Management, was over the moon about the turnout. He said, “This ride brings such a diverse crowd and truly provides an event for all! I look forward to it every year, and love being a part of something that brings people from all over the nation to enjoy what our community has to offer.”

So, mark your calendars, fellow riders, because Bike The Coast is coming back for more on November 2, 2024. Until then, keep those pedals turning, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll rack up some cash for a good cause too!
