Cyclassics Hamburg 2020 Canceled

Hey, it’s one we used to broadcast. Is their portmanteau of “cycling” and “classics” charming, or super cringe? It’s kind of Euro-cringe, which might make it cool in the US. A linguistic mullet.

Anyway, the Cyclassics Hamburg is canceled due to COVID-19. That’s really too bad. It’s a sprinter’s race that’s been on the calendar for 24 years without interruption, a remarkable run for a race that you basically only need to watch the last five minutes of unless you’re planning on writing a detailed report. Despite the cancelation, it’ll return next year in its usual August time slot.

Here’s the organizer’s pretty meager statement. We deleted the bit at the end where they gave out their email address. That’s our gift to you, Cyclassics Hamburg.

In agreement with the city of Hamburg and for reasons related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are sorry to inform you that the EuroEyes Cyclassics Hamburg will not take place in 2020 and will be held on August 22, 2021.
