Gaia Realini Extends Contract with Lidl-Trek: Climbing Towards Cycling Stardom

Gaia Realini’s ascent to cycling stardom continues with Lidl-Trek, as she extends her contract through 2027. The “Pocket Rocket” has been leaving a trail of awe since joining the team in 2023. Despite already boasting top-10 finishes at the Giro Donne, her true breakout came last season.

It all started with a fairytale moment, crossing the finish line arm-in-arm with her idol Elisa Longo Borghini at the UAE Women’s Tour. From there, she seized her first professional victory at Trofeo Oro in Euro, alongside teammate Amanda Spratt. Realini’s momentum only accelerated with podium finishes at Flèche Wallonne and the Vuelta Femenina, not to mention a stellar performance at her home race, the Giro d’Italia Donne.

Looking ahead to 2024, Realini gears up for her Tour de France Femmes debut, alongside returns to the Vuelta and Giro. With the unwavering support of her team, she aims to elevate her game even further.

Reflecting on her journey, Realini expressed gratitude for the team’s confidence in her abilities and the invaluable lessons learned along the way. As she sets her sights on new heights, Realini credits Lidl-Trek for instilling in her the value of teamwork and resilience.

Ina Teutenberg, Lidl-Trek DS, commended Realini’s rapid adaptation to the team dynamic and her ability to lead when called upon. With her remarkable mental fortitude and cycling prowess, Realini stands poised to become one of the strongest riders in women’s cycling.

Together, Realini and Lidl-Trek embark on a journey to conquer new horizons and cement her status as a force to be reckoned with in the peloton.
