2023 XTERRA Musandam Day 1 | Highlights
The first day of the prestigious 2023 XTERRA MUSANDAM kicked off today in a fun and festive atmosphere with the opening of the official 2023 XTERRA MUSANDAM Race Village at Musandam’s historic Khasab Fort.
The XTERRA Kids Fun Run for boys and girls aged 4 years and over also went ahead with much success – especially with Maxim Chane, the 4x XTERRA & Short Track Series Champion and U23 Cross Triathlon World Champion being present to give the kids plenty of inspiration, along with a number of elite-level athletes.
Event organizers Triathlon Middle East (TRIME.OM) are now getting ready to welcome athletes to the start line of tomorrow’s 2023 XTERRA MUSANDAM 21 km Trail Half Marathon and 10 km Trail Run event.
On Saturday 18 March, the 2023 XTERRA MUSANDAM will go ahead as the first-ever full-distance XTERRA off-road triathlon in the Middle East, and as part of the global XTERRA Series, which is considered the World’s number one off-road triathlon series. This flagship event will include a 1.5km open-ocean swim, 30km mountain-bike, and 10km trail-run through the magnificent desert wilderness setting of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula.
The 2023 XTERRA MUSANDAM will offer a combined $23,000 prize purse – which includes a $16,000 Pro Prize Purse for the main event, and $7,000 Prize Purse for the Trail Run.
