In the vast ecosystem of “retired pro cyclists launching a second career as a content creator,” Alex Dowsett occupies a specific niche: The Guy Who Actually Understands The Math.
While other ex-pros are busy launching gravel races or coffee beans, Dowsett has spent his post-WorldTour life on YouTube, patiently explaining aerodynamics and rolling resistance to people who just want to know why they got dropped on the Sunday club run.
Now, 4iiii Innovations has decided to harness that nerd energy officially. The Canadian power meter manufacturer announced today that they have signed Dowsett as a key ambassador for the 2026 season.

Bridging the Gap (Between Watts and Diapers)
The press release claims that Dowsett will help “bridge the gap between WorldTour expertise and practical coaching”. Translation: He is going to explain complicated training metrics in a way that doesn’t require a degree in sports science to understand.
Dowsett, who spent his career hunting marginal gains in the time trial, is now—like many of us—trying to balance a “passion for performance” with the reality of being a father.
“Alex is a respected voice… combining elite WorldTour experience with the perspective of a dedicated coach and father who still gets out on his bike every day,” says Mac Potter, 4iiii’s Director of Sales & Marketing.
Essentially, the partnership is betting that we are more likely to listen to a guy squeezing in a 90-minute interval session between diaper changes than a 22-year-old living in a team altitude camp in Tenerife.

The Gear
Dowsett will be running the full suite of 4iiii hardware, including the PRECISION 3+ Pro power meters.
Crucially, these units come with Apple Find My integration. This is excellent news for anyone who leaves their bike outside a café, but perhaps less useful for Dowsett, whose bikes are presumably never more than three feet away from a camera lens.
“No Fluff”
Dowsett, for his part, seems eager to cut through the noise.
“I’ve always believed that data is only valuable if you know what to do with it,” Dowsett said in the announcement. “Expect plenty of practical tips, no fluff, and the occasional deep dive!”.
We are looking forward to the “deep dives.” If anyone can explain why our Left/Right balance is 48/52 without making us feel inadequate, it’s probably him.
