Sneak Peak at Digital WorldBike 2020

In just four days, the first ever Digital WorldBike conference will take place. Cyclry will be there as though it was a real life trade show that we’d been sent to cover, which mostly means hanging out in the food court (kitchen) chatting with our friends (cats) and then finding a Bianchi (Specialized) to photograph at the last minute so we have a story to file.

In case that was too subtle, this is not a real life trade show. It’s a virtual one, so there’s no danger of catching COVID-19 or chlamydia. Plus we don’t have to comb our hair, brush our teeth, or interact with another human. On the negative, we can’t hit up the ice cream truck three times a day like we do at EuroBike.

Here’s what a virtual trade show booth looks like:

Was that interesting? Probably not. At least you don’t have to pay an £8,000 assembly fee for your “free” stand if you’re displaying at this one. They probably make you pay for the coding or something though.

Here’s a map of the site. No idea what on Earth this means. Hope they don’t make us install Second Life or Roblox to attend.

Anyway, we’ll have the full scoop if they don’t rescind our press pass. Or we’ll forget and just plagiarize whatever Road.cc says about it.
