[Watch] See.Sense Unveils Beam
See.Sense has announced, and opened pre-orders for, its latest smartlight. The Beam is a connected front light designed to adapt its brightness to your ride, increasing your visibility, with connectivity for crash and theft alerts, ride stats, light customisation and more. So far, so See.Sense – you can read our review of the Icon2 to get our thoughts on how all these features work (spoiler: they’re good).
The short story is that it’s a super bright 1,000 lumen front light that connects to the See.Sense app or your Garmin (and other head units, hopefully, if other manufacturers can figure our ANT+ light integration) to do all kinds of smart stuff. That includes intelligent pulsing at the times you need to be most visible, like filtering through traffic, approaching junctions, or entering rotaries.
They revealed it on a livestream. We must have missed our invitation, probably because they knew we’d crap up the chat. Luckily, they’ve shared the highlights, with a product demo, unboxing, and general chat through what it’s all about. Here’s Jemma with all the details:
And true to See.Sense form, it comes at a great price, giving you a lot of light for your £80. We think this is going to be a real contender for the best light you can buy at this price point. Psst, send us one please, See.Sense. It gets dark at 5pm here right now.
You can pre-order the Beam at a 35% discount now. Orders will ship in December, which is somehow less than three weeks away. Where did the year go?
