Elite Launches Rizer Gradient Trainer Accessory

Love indoor cycling? So does literally everyone else, apparently. Elite has added a new trainer accessory to its indoor cycling ecosystem, and we’ll reluctantly share the news out of some misplaced brand loyalty from about 13 years ago when we still trained indoors.

Their new product is called the RIZER, and it’s a gradient simulator with steering. If only there was some other way to ride up hills with steering. But there isn’t so you have to do it in your garage.

Elite tells us that it is “designed to give cyclists the most immersive riding experience as they work every muscle on their trainer and blast the world’s steepest climbs.” Work EVERY muscle? Well, maybe: our facial muscles will be getting a work out with all the gurning we do trying to climb a virtual Ventoux.

It supports inclines up to 20%, and declines up to -10%. It features immersive grade changes, connecting with your smart trainer. And Elite adds, “for more focused and realistic rides, the Elite gradient simulator features the innovative steering system which is designed to improve the handlebars’ feel when you’re going uphill, and help you work every muscle as you would if you were riding outdoors.” Not sure why they told us the ‘work every muscle’ bit twice. The penis is not a muscle, we will not make jokes about it no matter how hard they try.

One more quote and we can wrap this up until they send us one to review: “The Elite grade simulator can make you feel all the power of your favorite summits and help you attack the effort for the next climb when you’re riding your bike indoors.”
