Wout van Aert Releases Three NFTs, For Some Reason

NFTs. The hottest, least fungible topic around. It’s like a digital version of that scheme where people used to sell cheap watches on the street and have an independent expert happen to pass by and say it’s worth ten times what you paid for it. Also great for money laundering, if that’s your thing, at least for another year or so.

And now it’s also a way to own (pronounced “have a checksum that points to your name in a database next to”) a png of one of Wout van Aert’s best victories of 2021. Why? Because someone could make money from it, probably.

Even though it’d be funny to screenshot them, we can’t be bothered. So here’s a list.

Drop One

Wout van Aert #200801 — Momentible

This one is Strade Bianche. That can’t be right. Oh, it’s from 2020. We said 2021 up there but we were wrong. Too bad our backspace key is broken.

Update: Winning bid was $18k. LOL.

Drop Two

Wout van Aert #210707 — Momentible

Mont Ventoux. Good mountain, good win.

Update: Winning bid was $17k.

Drop Three

Wout van Aert #210718 — Momentible

Champs Elysees. Very cool, and so on.

Update: Winning bid was $16k.
