Lizard Skins Launches New Monitor Glove, The 3 SZN
How’s the weather in American Fork, Utah right now? Apparently not sunny: Lizard Skins, who you probably know for its handlebar tape, has launched a new glove designed for very cold and wet conditions.
The Monitor line of gloves has been established for several years, and the line is now extended with the new Monitor 3 SZN. It’s “a Monitor aimed at riding road or dirt in cold, inclement conditions.”
Lizard Skins tells us: “The new Monitor 3 SZN glove has what the original Monitor line has offered for years – great fit, comfort, bar feel, and protection against rocks and branches while protecting your hands against cold weather.”
It has flexible thermal backing for the cold, and an elasticated cuff that allows the glove to be worn either over or under a sleeve of a jacket. The new model also features a nano water-resistant lining to keep moisture out, and a “tackified,” hydro-resistant material in the palm to provide grip in wet conditions. There is also no padding, which is apparently a positive.
“We have heard from athletes like Kerry Werner, Erin Huck, and others that they’d love to see a Monitor glove designed for when things got a little colder and wetter. So this glove has been overdue, but we had to make sure it stood up to the Monitor standard,” says Ryan Huntington, Lizard Skins’ Sales and Marketing Director.
“We were excited to start work on this glove back in 2019, and I think the hard work has really paid off,” adds Brian Fruit, Founder. “The 3 SZN has been a balance to try and make a glove that is truly usable for two and, in some areas, three distinct seasons. I like to ride in the winter, and this glove will be a welcome addition and allow me to get out and ride a little longer.”
The Monitor 3 SZN is available now in 6 sizes, XS-XXL at $39.99
