Garmin Launches Enduro 2 Smartwatch with Long Battery, Mapping, and LED Flashlight

Garmin has officially launched its Enduro 2 ultraperformance multisport GPS smartwatch. If there were leaks about this, we didn’t get them. Sorry. That’ll put an end to rumors that we work for Garmin.

The Enduro 2 is the top-of-the-line smartwatch model, which Garmin says is “purpose built for endurance athletes.” So not your mom’s Fitbit then. It’s lightweight and includes built-in TopoActive maps with multicontinent coverage, which is cool. They’ve also added an LED flashlight and something called “SatIQ™ technology” that apparently helps optimize battery performance. It also does the solar thing, for 46 days in watch mode and 150 hours recording with GPS.

Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales, says “Now with built-in mapping, music, Garmin best-in-class battery life and growing list of performance features, Enduro 2 is a must-have for any endurance athlete.” He’s biased, but it does look a bit tasty.

They didn’t send us any other images. The rest of this article is all words.

Release Date and Price

Enduro 2 is available now with a suggested retail price of $1099.99.

Lol.

Lmao.

Sweet deal, sure.

Hardware Details

Enduro 2 includes a titanium bezel and rear case, 1.4” Power Sapphire lens, Ultrafit nylon band for a secure and comfortable fit, and a new touchscreen interface that complements Garmin’s traditional button controls.

During the day, Enduro 2 harnesses the sun’s energy to provide battery life of up to 150 hours in GPS mode and up to 46 days in smartwatch mode. For activities at night, it includes a dimmable LED flashlight, which is probably more useful when you’re trying to come to bed drunk without turning on the lights. Apparently it’s Garmin’s brightest flashlight to date, twice as bright as fēnix 7X’s flashlight. It has an optional strobe mode for raves (actually to match a runner’s cadence) and a red safety light mode.

Software Details

It has a whole fucking load of running features. Do we look like Runnlry? We’re ignoring those features. Sorry if you’re a runner. Not because we ignored the running features, we’re just sorry that you’re a runner.

Enduro 2 includes Garmin’s renowned navigation, preloaded TopoActive and ski maps. Multi-band GNSS offers GPS accuracy in any environment. NextFork™ map guide shows the distance to the next trail intersection, as well as the name of the upcoming trail, so users have increased awareness of their current location.

The new Health Snapshot feature records and generates a report of key stats, including heart rate, heart rate variability, Pulse Ox, respiration and stress. Advanced features include Body Battery™, Fitness Age and sleep monitoring with sleep score—plus a variety of built-in indoor and GPS sports apps such as mountain biking, swimming, hiking, running, golf, yoga and surfing.

Enduro 2 leverages these health metrics in performance features like recovery advisor and daily suggested workouts to provide users with the tools to help them perform their best.

While in between activities, users can take advantage of Garmin Pay™ contactless payments and receive smart notifications for calls, texts, calendar reminders, social media updates, breaking news stories and more when paired with your phone. When paired with a smartphone, Enduro 2 can also send a message with a user’s live location to their contacts manually—or automatically during select outdoor activities—with built-in incident detection.
