Mario Cipollini has been sentenced to three years in prison following a long-running domestic abuse case. Cipollini was found guilty of abusing his ex-wife and her new partner on Monday. The former World Champion will also pay out €85,000 in damages and compensation. As well as serving time in prison, Cipollini was ordered to pay €80,000 in damages to Landucci and a further €5,000 in compensation to Giusti. Oh yeah, spoiler warning for the big bold words above. Remco Evenepoel blazed into the history books Sunday, when he soloed to victory in Wollongong and brought home a world title that his home country had been waiting for since 2012. Just two weeks after becoming the first Belgian in 44 years to triumph in a Grand Tour, Remco scored his 15th win of the season – again, in spectacular fashion – and made sure the prestigious rainbow jersey remained in the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team. It was the crowning achievement of what has already been a stellar season for…
The Dutchwoman won against all the odds after a broken elbow on Wednesday. Her unexpected attack with 1km to go in Wollongong gave her a fourth World title. She will wear the rainbow bands with the Movistar Team for her pro final season in 2023. A Day We Will Never Forget The same emotions that 30th September 2018 brought us came back on 24th September 2022, a morning (European time!) which will forever remain in the memory. It couldn’t be other than the most brilliant rider in a generation, Annemiek van Vleuten. With one kilometer remaining on the 164km course…
Love too have the world championships on at like 2am. It’s my favorite. Women Ellen van Dijk blasted through the 34.2-kilometer course in Wollongong to win her third World Championship individual time trial title. The Dutch time trial specialist took a second successive victory at the UCI World Championships. It was a tight race, but not between the expected favorites, compatriot Annemiek van Vleuten and rival time trial specialist Marlen Reusser, who had beaten Ellen at the European Championships in August. It was, in fact, Australian Grace Brown who surprised everyone by setting the quickest time in the two time…
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. INEOS Grenadiers’ double world time-trial champion–FILIPPO GANNA–will attempt to break the UCI Hour Record at the Tissot Velodrome in Grenchen, Switzerland on 8 October 2022 at 8PM CEST. The 26-year-old Italian will need to cover more than 55.548 kilometres to break the current world record, held by Ganna’s INEOS Grenadiers team mate and Performance Engineer Dan Bigham. Ganna, sporting the UCI rainbow bands for a second consecutive year, has consistently proven himself one of the fastest cyclists on the planet against the clock, so it was only a matter of time before…

Primoz Roglic has missed the 17th stage of the Vuelta a España after crashing on Tuesday. The 32-year-old Slovenian, three times winner of the Spanish stage race, was severely affected by his injuries. Team Jumbo-Visma was unable to compete for the stage win in the hilly stage to Monasterio de Tentudía. “Primoz was in a lot of pain last night”, Jumbo Visma sports director Addy Engels said about the crash’s consequences. “That is also why he did not appear at the start today. His medical scans this morning showed no fractures but did show several bruises and abrasions. Pain and…
