Report Marianne Vos has scored a superb double victory in the Tour de France Femmes. In the second stage from Meaux to Provins, the 35-year-old rider of Team Jumbo-Visma beat her breakaway companions and captured the yellow leader’s jersey. About twenty kilometres from the finish line Vos and five other riders escaped from the peloton. The six worked well together and saw their lead on the peloton increase. In the slightly uphill final kilometre, Vos demonstrated her sprinting skills and beat all her breakaway companions. “This is a beautiful day. I still have to let it all sink in”, Vos…

Guest post by Jassica Mendez Cycling is one of the world’s most popular participatory sports. It’s a fantastic method to improve your health and get challenging exercise. However, many people fail to consider the risks associated with the activity they like so much. That’s why we’ll discuss some of the most common cycling injuries. By knowing what they are, you’ll also know what steps you can take to prevent them from happening to you. This headline is either completely self-explanatory or completely baffling, depending on your knowledge of bike components. 105 is Shimano’s good-not-great groupset, perfectly good enough for any cyclist to use and priced competitively – although Ultegra and Dura-Ace are noticeably better. It’s now on its 40th anniversary since being first introduced in 1982, and Shimano is celebrating by giving 105 the ultimate upgrade with a move to Di2 electronic shifting technology. Oh yeah, Di2 is electronic shifting. Good if you like having one more thing to charge up. The highly anticipated Shimano 105 R7100 group not only delivers Di2 performance to an…
Gonna be honest, we burned out on bike computers. How many black rectangles that’ll still be polluting the Earth 1,000 years after we’re dead do we really need? Yeah, yeah, but the one you bought 18 months ago doesn’t use an accelerometer to detect when you bunny hop over curbs, so it’s time for an upgrade. Grab your conflict minerals and send some more kids down into the lithium mines, because new bike computers are coming at us thick and fast as all the disruptions begin to ease. And the most significant one is Garmin’s flagship, the Edge 1040. Edge…

Fuck, we got this news way early but couldn’t be bothered milking it for clicks. Oh well. Used to be a radar and light, now it’s radar, light, and camera. That’s cool enough. Can it run Doom too? “For years, cyclists around the world have trusted our Varia rearview radars to enhance their awareness of approaching…
The bike computer space was a hotly contested cycling tech arena for a while, with a slew of innovative brands emerging and pushing the established market leaders to provide software and hardware that offered great features at increasingly attractive prices. This progress stalled in the disruption that began in 2020 and will continue through 2022, meaning there aren’t too many new head units shaking the industry up right now. The only notable addition during this period was the revised Wahoo Elemnt Bolt, adding new features and a color screen. Spoiler warning: it’s pretty much the best out there. With a…
