BOURRELIER GROUP becomes owner of MAVIC! After long months of uncertainties and difficult stages, Mavic employees see the horizon emerging. In this reorganization of fourteen candidates, Bourrelier Group largely broke away and crossed the finish line with a comfortable lead. At the helm of the Grenoble Commercial Court, the procedural bodies unanimously validated the Bourrelier Group project. Indeed, we met an entrepreneur with a human dimension and a sense of dialogue. He presented us with a coherent project that refocuses on Mavic’s fundamentals and relies on significant own financial resources while retaining 105 employees, which we believe is in line…

It’s extraordinarily strange referring to a 15kg bike as a climbing bike, but it’s a good weight for an e-bike. The Mirabeau features a carbon monocoque frame and Di2 disc groupset, so it’s a pretty solid bike without the motor. And in fact, the motor is discreet too, seamlessly integrated to give a stylish silhouette. The fact that it’s an e-bike is pretty subtle, but not so subtle that you’d last long trying to use it to win a race. Style, rather than deception, is Stajvelo’s aim here, and its a target they hit well. For elderly riders, this is…
When every cycling magazine has scheduled its content to go live the exact minute the embargo lifts: Here’s an exclusive: the Giant TCX Advanced Pro cyclo-cross bike is lighter this year. You can quote us on that.
Vittoria has announced that the company has been acquired by Wise Equity, a group that sounds like it’s one of those tedious venture capital firms. Vittoria has been one of the major innovators in road cycling tires, with the Corsa G+ being the graphene tires of choice on the Cyclry hill climb bike. And we have colorful, bomb-proof Rubinos on every fixie in our fleet. As Vittoria President Rudie Campagne heads for his retirement, Stijn Vriends joins as President and CEO as part of the takeover. Perhaps troublingly, they see a future in urban mobility and e-bikes. Hopefully this won’t…
Do you use a smartwatch to record your ride? We do not, but we know plenty of people who do. Garmin’s leading that space with its Fenix line, which allows multisport tracking for cycling, running, swimming, and… uh… golf. It’ll go great with your dentist’s Cervelo. The new Fenix line adds solar powered battery, which Garmin says will extend the battery life up to 16 days. That’s 384 hours (quick maths), or more time than we’ve spent in the saddle all year. Pretty nice. The new Instinct Solar boasts an even huger 24 days, but we don’t know anybody who…
In news that’s definitely not aimed at us, but might appeal to that guy we used to do track stands with back in 2004, State Bicycle Co. have announced their latest collaboration with… uh. Biggie Smalls. State often does very cool creative crossovers. Ours, and seemingly Reddit’s too, was their Simpsons collab, with a beautifully distinctive bike that almost made it into our endless collection of fixies we don’t even ride any more. Their latest, The State Bicycle Co. x The Notorious B.I.G., is a collection that includes a Biggie-inspired bike, bar tape, three different kits, three different casquettes, and…
We’re back from our week-long vacation. Did you even notice we were gone? Probably not – despite the break, June was somehow our biggest month ever. We’re more popular when we say nothing. Figures. We haven’t wasted this time though. We have wasted this time vaping, playing PlayStation, and watching weird movies with Aubrey Plaza in them. Oh yeah, and we wrote BLACK LIVES MATTER in pavement chalk outside the Cyclry HQ. So far, so good, despite the fact that there’s a car with a Thin Blue Line bumper sticker permanently parked outside. It’s been a well-earned break before everything…
As the sport begins to return to normality heads towards an insane clusterfuck of a year-long cycling season being played out over two months, the Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation has shared an update on how they plan to operate following cycling’s resumption, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their work. And the headline item is that out-of-competition testing dropped by 90% during this period. So it’s been a great time to inject pig fetuses into your thighs, or whatever the latest trend is. This, of course, is due to government restrictions. Not too many of those over here in the…
