Belgian CX Champs: No Surprises
Excitement and the unexpected are not intrinsically linked. Which is good news, because there were no surprises at all in the Belgian national cyclocross championships.
In the Elite Women’s race, Sanne Cant won her twelfth straight national championship. Twelve. 12. In a row. What the fuck.
1 | Sanne Cant (Bel) Iko – Crelan | 0:48:39 |
2 | Lotte Kopecky (Bel) LIV Racing | 0:00:22 |
3 | Alicia Franck (Bel) Proximus – Alphamotorhomes – Doltcini Ct | 0:01:38 |
And in the men’s race, Wout van Aert mostly cruised to his fourth national championship win. Although Toon Aerts made the final results look fairly close, Wout van Aert was alone for the majority of the race with his victory never in doubt.
1 | Wout Van Aert (Bel) | 1:04:12 |
2 | Toon Aerts (Bel) Baloise Trek Lions | 0:00:20 |
3 | Michael Vanthourenhout (Bel) Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal | 0:00:41 |
So there. If you chose to put a bet on this one, we hope you picked the safe option.
