Franck Bonnamour Suspended for Anti-Doping Violations

The Union Cycliste Internationale, our noble, benevolent rulers, have announced that French Decathlon-AG2R rider Franck Bonnamour has been provisionally suspended in accordance with the UCI Anti-Doping Rules.

The UCI have shed very little light at this stage, but tell us the suspension is due to “unexplained abnormalities in his Biological Passport.”

Unexplained abnormalities, huh. Sounds a bit Close Encounters to us. Biological passports do too, really, but we’re used to hearing that phrase. Still, if you’re a time-traveller, know that we don’t have aliens in 2024. Just much worse stuff.

Expect to not hear much more. The UCI have told us they won’t comment further while the proceedings are ongoing. And we’re not going to push it. We gave up getting in trouble.
