Davide Rebellin died this morning after being hit by a truck while on his morning ride. Initial reports state that the driver of the heavy truck that hit him while exiting a motorway off ramp did not stop. Italian police are working to trace the truck’s driver. The 51-year-old had only just retired after a long career that included victories Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Amstel Gold, La Fleche Wallonne (three times), the Paris-Nice, and the San Sebastian Classic.

Italian clothing brand Rosti has demoed something not one single person on Earth asked for: denim bib shorts for cycling. The “Bib Jeans,” are 48% cotton, 22% recycled polyester, 15% polyester and 15% elastane. That’s real denim, not printed lycra. The Bib Jeans have been long in development, even tested by the AG2R Citroën team. Much work was put into summer testing, with the testing team putting thousands of miles into them to prove that they perform as well as regular shorts.
