Report Team Jumbo-Visma achieved an exceptional result in the team time trial of the Vuelta. On the grand tour’s opening day, the black-and-yellow formation rode to victory in the streets of Utrecht. Robert Gesink was the first rider to pass the finish line and claimed the red leader’s jersey. The team was the last to start the 23.3-kilometre team time trial. The eight-rider team immediately developed a high pace, quickly built up a lead and kept growing it. Supported by the enthusiastic crowd along the road, the team raced through the centre of Utrecht. 2022 revision: We absolutely didn’t have the rights to the Primal Scream song we originally used at the start. We’ve muted the video for the first nine seconds and added a disclaimer. Not our finest work. In 2008 we went to Beverley in East Yorkshire for the British Criterium Champs and the East Yorkshire Classic. Fun was had. Hull accents were heard. And we got in trouble for driving the commissaire car too dangerously. We recorded the audio on an extraordinarily long microphone that cost £1. You can tell. We also didn’t have a script. You can tell that too.…

Tom Dumoulin has retired from professional cycling with immediate effect. The former World Champion and Giro d’Italia winner had intended to retire at the end of the season, after targeting the World Championships. However, his love for the sport has been tenuous for several years, and has already resulted in him taking a hiatus. With training not going to plan and an injury from a crash still affecting him, he has decided to call it a day. Chapeau, Tom. Do something you love. Tom Dumoulin’s Statement: I decided to quit professional cycling with immediate effect. About two months ago I…
